When we started SaaS Insider, it wasn’t a conference.
It wasn’t even a community.
It was a blog. A place to explore the growing SaaS movement in India.
But like most things in SaaS, momentum came quickly - first in readership, then in connections, and eventually, in real-world gatherings.
And just like that, what started as a blog turned into what is now India’s most curated B2B SaaS and AI leadership event.
In 2022, we hosted our first conference. We called it India 2022, and we were testing a hypothesis:
What if you created a room full of the right people in SaaS, and nothing else?
The room filled up quickly and 900 people showed up.
In 2023, we went bigger. We rebranded to SAASCON23 and saw 1200 attendees. The model stayed the same: invite-only, and deeply focused on founders, investors, and functional leaders from B2B SaaS companies across India.
In both years, we maintained an 80% turnout rate. This was a clear signal that people didn’t just register to attend. They wanted to be in the room.
But something still felt incomplete.
We had leaders from marketing, sales, product, engineering—all in one room. And while that worked in the early days, we started to notice a pattern:
The conversations were colliding, not blending.
So in 2024, we made a decision.
Rather than hosting one big event again, we split the conference into two distinct summits:
• SAASCON24 – Built for the GTM side of SaaS: CMOs, CROs, Chief Sales Officers, RevOps leaders.
• DEVCON24 – Focused on the builders: CTOs, VPs of Engineering, Product Leaders, and DevTool founders.
This wasn’t just a branding exercise—it was a structural shift.
We knew that GTM and Tech teams think differently, operate differently, and seek out very different kinds of conversations.
SAASCON24 brought in 750 attendees.
DEVCON24 had a leaner 500.
And then something remarkable happened.
The smaller the rooms got, the bigger the outcomes became.
At DEVCON24, one of our partners built over $1 million in pipeline in a single day.
At SAASCON24, multiple partners walked away with 100+ qualified leads again, each.
Attendees told us this was the most meaningful event they’d ever been to—not because of scale, but because of focus.
• The conversations were deeper.
• The networking was stronger.
• The signal-to-noise ratio? Virtually zero.
And here’s the part we’re most proud of:
It wasn’t accidental. It was designed.
Every attendee was curated. Not registered.
Every session was intentional. Not filler.
Every partner was aligned with the room, not just present in it.
In short: we didn’t chase scale, we chased fit.
Most conferences pride themselves on going bigger each year. But we realized that growth doesn’t have to mean size. The effort we put into curation showed up in every metric that matters:
• More pipeline for sponsors
• More relevant connections for attendees
• More recognition for speakers
• And more momentum for the SaaS Insider brand
So instead of expanding our numbers, we decided to narrow our focus.
We’ve said goodbye to open forms and mass invites. There will be no general admissions.
Every SaaS Insider conference will be built from the guest list up because when you design the room first, the experience takes care of itself. We’ll do the hard work of finding and inviting the right people so the ones who walk in feel like they belong.
